Object Shelf

A shelf should show the objects that have a reason to be there.

Open shelves, side tables, baskets, and small storage spots work best when they hold objects that are useful, visible, and easy to return.

Object Shelf scene

Keep the daily row honest.

The most reachable shelf should hold the things people actually use, not only objects that look good.

Use baskets for soft groups.

A basket can hold fabric, cables, small accessories, or loose daily items while keeping the shelf calmer.

Let books act as anchors.

Books add weight and shape to a shelf, but too many can turn the shelf into a wall of objects. Leave some open space.

Use trays for small pieces.

A tray can keep glasses, keys, remotes, or small objects from spreading across a table or shelf.

Avoid decorative overload.

Renariqo should not look like a pure decor account. Keep the focus on small objects that can be used.

Make return easy.

If an item is difficult to put back, it will probably stay on another surface. Shelves should lower friction.

Let the shelf change with use.

A useful shelf may look slightly different through the week. That is okay if the main groups still make sense.

Final edit

Open storage works when the object has a reason to stay visible.

A shelf should help the day, not just fill a wall.
